Överförmyndare och god man

Överförmyndarens uppgift är att motverka att personer som inte själva kan ta tillvara sin rätt drabbas av rättsförluster. Till exempel barn eller personer som på grund av hög ålder, sjukdom, psykisk eller fysisk funktionsnedsättning inte kan ta hand om sin ekonomi eller andra angelägenheter.

Det kan handla om att någon behöver en god man eller en förvaltare som tar tillvara personens intressen. Överförmyndaren hjälper då till att ordna med en sådan ställföreträdare. Överförmyndaren ser också till att ställföreträdarna sköter sina uppdrag.

I ansvarsområdet ingår också till viss del att se till att förmyndarna förvaltar sina barns tillgångar på ett riktigt sätt. Verksamheten styrs till stor del av reglerna i föräldrabalken.

De fem kommunerna Partille, Härryda, Kungsbacka, Mölndal och Öckerö har en gemensam organisation och nämnd för överförmyndarfrågor. Överförmyndare i samverkan har kontor i Mölndal, dit du som är folkbokförd i Partille kommun vänder dig vid behov.
