The Bohusleden Trail - a long-distance footpath from Lindome to Strömstad

36 kilometres of walking through beautiful Bohuslän awaits you. The trail starts in Mölndal on the border with Halland and ends in Strömstad. It offers a luxuriant and varied countryside for you to enjoy, with sparkling lakes and high mountains, barren bogs and fertile valleys. The Bohusleden Trail is divided into 27 sections that are adapted for a wonderfully relaxing day's hiking.

There are three different stages of the Bohusleden Trail within Partille:

Skatås-Stora Kåsjön Lake, 8.5 km

From Skatås, the Bohusleden Trail joins up with Vildmarksleden (the Wilderness Trail) as far as Maderna. Härlanda Tjärn is a lake that offers excellent swimming. At Getryggen you can enjoy the magnificent view over Göteborg and Sävedalen. Between Blacktjärn and Lake Kåsjön the route takes you through beautiful deciduous forests with steep ravines and meagre rocky outcrops. There is a beautifully located shelter at Prästtjärn, in close proximity to the trail.

Stora Kåsjön Lake-Jonsered, 9.0 km

Partille youth hostel is located at Åstebo. The path runs past Stora Kåsjön Lake, a very popular swimming location. During the summer, a kiosk is open here. The path then takes you through beautiful stretches of woodland. The paths divide at Maderna, a lake that is home to an abundance of bird life. The Bohusleden Trail runs northwards through an easily negotiated forest terrain with elements of spruce, pine and deciduous trees.  At Råhultstugan there is a shelter where it is possible to stay overnight. Chopped firewood is usually available that you are entitled to use. Råhultsstugan serves food on Saturdays and Sundays during January-March.

Jonsered-Angered Church, 11.0 km

The National Heritage Board has designated the town of Jonsered as a cultural-historical area of national interest. The landscape in Bokedalen and around Jonsered Manor House has the characteristics of a park with abundant stands of old deciduous trees. The remnants of stone walls and old paths are visible on the hillsides. There are some preserved crofts in the valley's upper section dating from 1820 onward. The Bohusleden Trails divides at Jonsered Manor House. You can take the land path, an old route through a beautiful landscape of gullies, or the lake route alongside Lake Aspen via Humlebadet with its lovely views and magical ancient forest. The two options link up at the Freden croft south of Stora Ramsjön Lake. A café is open here on Sundays during the period September-May. There is also a shelter at Freden that is at your disposal. The path continues northwards between the two lakes, Stora and Lilla Ramsjö. After crossing the sound via a suspension bridge you soon arrive at a high plateau where you can enjoy the view over Partille and Göteborg. You then walk through beautiful stretches of woodland alongside Rörmossen and arrive at the Tulteredsbäcken gully. The area has a very high natural- and cultural value.
